Michael is involved in a wide range of organisations across engineering, infrastructure, agriculture, energy, environmental sustainability, the space industry, academia, and the nuclear industry.
He is extremely well connected with Australia’s manufacturing, industrial and political leaders, as well as the country’s top universities, including activities in the nuclear and AUKUS spheres.
He is the Chief Executive Officer of the AUKUS Forum and has a personal contact base of over 100,000 people across Australian industry, with more than 25,000 members of the AUKUS Forum and 30,000 LinkedIn connections, with many more built over his time on projects for infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, and research activities. He has an extensive range of industry networks assembled over the last three decades.
Widely regarded as one of the most connected people in Australian industry, with a strong focus on business transactions, Michael is focussed on transformation – helping countless businesses to access new export opportunities and enter adjacent markets such as traditional engineering firms entering the space and defence industries.
This gives him an unrivalled ability to connect with key decision makers, to facilitate contacts between Australian and overseas manufacturers, establish joint ventures and establish supply chains. Several major US corporations have reached out to him recently to find local suppliers.
Michael is the Founder of the Nuclear Skills Forum and Chairman of the Nuclear Taskforce. He also serves as Chairman of the Missile Industries Corporation (MissileCorp) and the Undersea Capabilities Corporation. Additionally he serves as Chairman of the Australian Research Council's Micro Recycling Hub and the Steering Committee for the Australian Government’s Sustainable Communities and Waste Hub.
With interests across regional Australia, Michael is the Director of Cattle Corporation (CattleCorp) and Founder of the Food Bowl Forum.
Michael has vast experience in politics, industry and manufacturing, having served as the National Director for Industry at the Australian Government’s Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre; and Chairman of the HunterNet Co-operative, a very successful industry cluster based in the Newcastle area of New South Wales.
Michael is a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders; a Fellow of The Royal Society for the Arts, Manufactures & Commerce; and has completed courses in Leadership at the Harvard Business School.
Lynn co-founded IdeaSpies in 2016. IdeaSpies is an open innovation platform for clever ideas, new discoveries and original thinkers. It’s about sharing what’s good for everybody. A place where people, industries and governments can inspire action and shape their choices toward moving humanity forward in the right direction.
Lynn's interest in innovation started early in her career. She was in the startup team for American Express Cards in Australia and NZ as well as later in Nth East Asia. She was also part of the teams that established the first international property fund in Australia, one of the first wholesale property funds and a funds management group.
Lynn has served on many boards, including as Chair. She was one of the first three women in Australia to be on the board of a listed organisation and one of the first to adopt a portfolio career as a consultant, board member, mentor and entrepreneur.
Boards she has served on include the IFRS Foundation, Financial Reporting Council, Foreign Investment Review Board, Noni B, HSBC Bank Australia, Macquarie Goodman Group, Schroders Australia, MS Australia, Save the Children Australia and Womens' College at the University of Sydney.
She has also chaired Audit Committees, served on compliance committees and developed, managed and sold two SME businesses.
Currently an Area Councillor of the RSA (Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce).
Lynn was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2001.
Irfan is the New South Wales State President and Vice National Chair of the Australia India Business Council. He brings over 20 years’ experience in technology leadership, innovation, digital transformation, trade and investments, capital raise, global scale-up, market access programs with a collaborative & inclusive leadership style to take this important AIBC NSW State Chapter to greater achievements ahead.
Irfan leads inQ Innovation, a Global Open Innovation Ecosystem actively involved in Startup and Innovation bi-lateral ecosystem collaboration, global market scaling and investment raise propositions.
A Global Open Innovation Leader, a scale-up advisor, and facilitator, his role includes fostering Australia–India Innovation Bridge Start-up & Open Innovation Eco-Systems/Market access programs, as well as mentoring startups in India, Australia and the UAE.
He was AIBC Industry Chapter Chair for Startups and Innovation (2019 -2021) playing a key role in entrepreneurship initiatives for capacity building, including facilitating Australia India Innovation Bridge activities.
Irfan is also a well-recognised community leader, working closely with the Indian Consulate General, Sydney and various local and global community-support based organisations.
Navigating the diverse landscape of Australian business, Catherine works across a range of industry including the engineering and agriculture sectors. With a comprehensive understanding of the mission and vision, she artfully bridges the gap between the leadership team's objectives and the practical aspects of running a dynamic organisation. Notably, she holds the responsibility of managing the secretariat for the AUKUS Forum and as Administration and Operations Manager at Cattle Corporation Pty Ltd.
A master of detail and orchestration, Catherine oversees the bustling daily operations with an analytical eye, ensuring the seamless functionality of the office's multifaceted undertakings. This encompasses a range of responsibilities including industry engagement, business support, and handling intricate legal concerns. Her proficiency in system management, both on-site and remotely, further extends to overseeing security protocols and safeguarding security functions.
Catherine's background as a paralegal secretary has equipped her with invaluable organisational prowess, which she seamlessly integrates into her role. Her unwavering commitment, coupled with her exceptional organisational abilities, guarantees the operations function flawlessly.
